That's exactly what most music majors wind up doing. However, as a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed young freshman, I didn't know that you could really do that, and it was mostly discouraged at the time. And no one offered the advice until I was already enrolled and the bursar had come a knockin'. Live and learn. The next year I was a bleary-eyed pain in the a** sophmore enrolled in 12 hours.
And Sean's right - ventually mom & dad AND the government (financial aid) will grow weary of your slogging academic pace.
