Just wondering if all those preparing for the Albany Audition have struggled with this:
In the music they sent for the audition - they have included the printed tempo marking of half note equals 72 for the Berlioz Symphony Fantastique. I have practiced it at this tempo, and feel it is far under tempo compared to many recordings.
The question is do you play the printed tempo, or do what you think is right.
