Once every few months, some anonymous person goes postal over some word choice that I or someone else has made in a post. Seemingly 100% of the time, the offending word is absolutely the most transparent and concise word for the context. That clarity is what I believe shocks others, as communication has degenerated (particularly in some business and academic hierarchies) into "non-communication".
Someone with an I.Q. at least 50 points above mine commented on this very thing this week, and some of you might wish to read his short article on the subject (link below).
