I had a 2155 for about 2.5 years. Great horn, it fit in with any size ensemble that I played in. The low register was VERY free blowing, it was a great horn. I traded it in for a 2165. Why? I have always wanted a BFT, and found one that plays just as well or better than the 2155. The 2165 does take some getting use too, more air in the low reg, but when you have figured that out it is a lot of fun to play. The sound is a good deal darker with the 2165
My advice would be to make a trip to Dillion's and try it out. If you're going to be spending that much $$ you should take her for a test drive first.

Also, consider what type of playing are you going to do on this horn. BQ=2155? Orchestra=2165? Band=2165? Freelancing=2155?

this is my $.02 worth
