I was just thinking last night: are the yammies 321s? Could it be that your director is hung up on the bell pointing the 'wrong' way? Or is it silver compared to the lacquer ones? I'm not saying that it SHOULD matter (esp. the silver/lacquer issue), but is it possible that this is what's causing the director to object? Has anyone experienced an insistance that the bell point a particular way, in wind symph or military bands maybe?
Just looking for the rationale behind this decision.
