St Pete is $3000-ish from Tuba exchange (please correct me if wrong). The folks who are happy with their St Pete's tend to be the ones that got them Direct from europe for 1/2 of what they are charging now.

The new King 2341 is $3495 in lacquer (Dillons), and also available in a beautiful satin silver. It shares a lot of parts with the Conn 52/56J, and those are a LOT more expensive ( just under $6000 I think ).

The consensus has seemed to suggest spending a little more to get the King or a VMI/Schmidt if a new 4/4 BBb is what you want. The Weril 3/4 BBb also has a good reputation for an inexpensive starter/re-starter horn and they're only $1700, with none of the problem associated with the St Pete. Check the archives for a wealth of information.
