This is a replacement. When I bought my Yamaha last year, I was having some breathing problems (I was on 4-5 pills a day for allergies and they thought I might have asthma). So I really didn't like the way that the more free blowing tubas played then. Now that I've gotten my breathing straightened out, I really hated the generic sound of my 822. I kknew that it was time for me to go back and get that free blowing horn that I needed.
