I find your comments very interesting. Personally I would rather do "sit-down band" playing the tuba instead of marching. The marching band experience has always been more of a necessary evil to me. I really don't mind doing it that much and think that the finished product is kind of neat (complete dril etc.) but I still would rather be doing concert band playing the tuba.
I understand the need to make exceptions for people in term of marching/not marching. I was really just curious as to what you policy was. Do whatever you need to do to keep this guy 100% and if that means no sousaphone...go for it.
