Dr. Young, I disagree with your speculations. It is very evident you are a huge supporter of double tubas. I study with Abe torchinksy, and I know for a fact that he doesn't care what you play, as long as you play it well. It may be a scientific fact that these "double tubas" play more in tune, but any good professional player can use their ear to compensate for a bad note or two. i'll personally take my Rudy 5/4 and it's one bad note over any horn on the market today. I'm sure you've encountered quite a few professionals who say the same about their instruments.
