If your daughter has been playing a 3 valve Yamaha, it's likely to be a YBB105, which has upright piston valves. Before you invest in a front action tuba, make sure your daughter will be comfortable with one. My son started at 11 and neither he nor I have been comfortable with any front action horn where the valves are in a line angled away from the bell (like the Weril). We both like rotaries where the valves and spatulas are parallel to the bell, but I don't know of any 3/4 BBb's like that. Don't misunderstand me, I've test played Werils and I think they are a fine student/amateur horn. I'm just suggesting you try the ergonomics before you invest. If it doesn't work, you may want to go for a 3 valve upright for a while.
