I don't know how a bigger sound will ruin your face. A bigger sound means more air passing through the horn and that should be a function of lungs and mouth and nose, not facial muscles. Breathe on the syllable "OH," and push the air through your enbouschure with your diaphragm. If you havn't gotten the breathing toys from Brian Fredericksen at Windsong, get an incentive spirometer and learn to get steady, large streams of air going through it. But don't make funny faces unless you are devloping a comedy act.
