Chester was one of the best teachers I have had. He has a tremendous ear for hearing your weak spots and strengths and showing you how to correct or augment those areas. I studied with him for my masters at NEC and go back for more lessons when I can. As mentioned in an earlier post, he concentrates on a beautiful sound through out the range of the instrument. Using the sliced bread and butter analogy, with the butter your sound and the bread as your range, you spread your beautiful sound back and forth over your entire range. He is also a circular breathing monster and uses it to great effect. If you have the chance to study with him either at NEC or Tanglewood, I would highly recommend it.
