Yep, I've done this "conversion", but using an H.N. White Eb tuba. Works great! I trashed the tiny three-valve cluster, and added my cut-down Hirsbrunner CC cluster (never did like that HB2P!).
Can you use the same leadpipe? Dunno. Probably not. It's not that hard to make your own, though (Details upon request). Also, if you want the bell engraving to face forward, you end up with the weak part of the bell seam next to the mouthpiece. Not a real problem, though.
