When I went car shopping a couple of years ago, I took my tuba in its gig bag to the dealership and tried it in the trunks of every model they sold, starting with a Neon, and stopping when I got to an Intrepid, which fit. Now I can carry my PT-6P CC and my Alex F tuba in the trunk together. I believe I could also fit a Nirschl York model in there in place of the PT-6P.
