Alot of students I have always try to slur upward by playing the lower note and then pushing more air to make the slur go up. Sort of like huffing and puffing the slur. I always tell students to play the lower note with the same air stream as you would the upper note so that the air is already moving at the proper speed and then all it takes is a slight shift in the lip and voila! smooth upward slurring. I do not know if this will help you because I do not know how you are doing presently, but maybe it will help. Think of the lower note as a trampoline or spring board for the air. Use the air energy on the low note to get up to the higher note. Don't try just pushing more on the higher note. I hope I explained it OK for you. Also keep trying. After you do it a few hundred times it will be a piece of cake! Students always think I am joking when I say that but sometimes that's what it really takes.

good luck, ken k
