DON'T FORCE THEM!!!! Tap the valve post LIGHTLY with a rawhide mallet. Pour some valve oil down the leadpipe and let it soak into the valve casing. Take the back caps off and pour 3-in-1 oilt onto the bearing. Let the pil soak in for a day or so. Lightly tap the valve post again. If they STILL won't loosen up, take the horn to someone who can fix it, like your tuba teacher, or repair technician. Tony Clements
