I think you'd have a hard time getting an acceptable result with paint, unless you went to a lot of trouble to clean and prime the horns. Not to mention masking off the parts you didn't want to paint.
During football season, we used to get together the morning of game day and clean up our horns (the fibreglass parts only!) with Comet. And, considering what those horns sounded like on their best days, Comet was a good choice for many different reasons ;-)!
