No experience with the specific Bach setup you name, but I used a borrowed Benge 290 BBone a few years ago. Great sound, great response, I've thought ever since then about getting one. But when I went to tune up I was still pretty flat with the tuning slide all the way in. It had a removable leadpipe, so I decided to see if it would do any good to just remove it and plug my MP into the pipe directly. It went WAY deep, of course, so pitch got even worse, but I also found it to be very unstable. Notes wouldn't slot well, partials were out of tune. I assume the problem was that air moving around the sides of the MP taper caused a lot of turbulence, and caused nodes to move based on how loud I played. Bottom line, it was a real dog (IMHO).
