You know, I always subscribed to the theory of if you really don't feel like doing it, then don't do it... you'll just reinforce bad habit and be uninspired. You'll also likely be MORE inspired the next time you pick up the horn. You know what though? I have a good job playing my horn and I get to travel all around the country with my tuba quartet and concert band, but who the hell am I? I haven't won a "big" gig yet. I've been runner up a few times in Washington, but I haven't won it yet. Why? Because on those days that I didn't feel like practicing I didn't because I bought into someone else's excuse for being lazy.
My opinion... I'm going to go practice now. I've got a rendezvous with a job somewhere.
