Hirsbrunner tubas have the "Happy Tuba Sound." When I try to get the sound I hear in my head out on stage, the Hirsbrunner does it. The range of colors I can get, the "free blowing" qualities, the consistent intonation, and the craftsmanship all contribute to my selection. I wouldn't say a laundry list of huge differences exist, but I find for me, that when it comes right down to it, the Hirsbrunner is superior in ALL aspects. I have a 4/4 with the "pig tail" and a 6/4 Yorkbrunner.

I like the PT 4's and 6's, they are good quality tubas, they just aren't for me. I had a B&S F for awhile, I couldn't get the sound I wanted.
