Neither horn however was a "FOR SALE GREATEST SINCE
SLICED BREAD" type of post. Rather, both previous owners
had supplied a small one or two-line reply to someone requesting
leads for a horn. In both cases I enquired, and in both cases
had to be somewhat diligent as neither seller "had" to sell,
and so I guess I was far more motivated than them. The effort
was worth it though, heck I corresponded for 5 or 6 months
with the seller of my Holton, and at least two months with the seller
of my Bohm & Meinl. Both turned out to be great buys, maybe I am lucky,
but I think more to the point these were serious players selling serious
instruments, and thus despite the "great buy" state of the instruments,
both still cost serious cash. Good luck with your search!
