In a word...Incredible!

I've played on at least 5 different ones (all medium bore, all made in the last 2 1/2 years) and they are all stunning instruments. The tone quality from top to bottom just sings. Most F tubas have pretty bad intonation problems with the C in the staff and below the staff which one must work to control. I did not notice this with the Hirsbrunner. It is the most effortless F tuba I've ever played. It has what I think is a great balance between depth and clarity of sound. It would fit in an ensemble as well as solo setting.

I tried one of the large bore ones which had a very big, dark sound and would be ideal for high-octane orchestral stuff. Not as clear as the medium, but still a wonderful sound.

You will NOT regret buying that horn, I assure you! Good luck and happy playing!
