And this web page also makes it perfectly clear why the double tuba will not catch on, except among superheroes. The dang thing is complicated, prohibitively expensive, and just HUGE!
Give me an F tuba with a beautiful sound. I'll practice the low register a lot, and no one will ever know how stuffy it is.
