Plus, remember to turn it slowly enough so that there's not enough centrifugal force to contain spit in the bends (remember the bucket & water demonstration in science class in grade school?).
Picture rolling a marble from just past the valves to out the bell. It should be possible to avoid running the spit through the valve section -- NEVER get that gunky water into the valves unless you have to do it to save the planet. :-)
When in doubt, pull out all the slides and slowly twirl the horn around. That works, but be careful about your shoes.
