Our current cat only sleeps in my gig bag (fuzzy tuba anyone?), but I have weathered the experience of an old senile incontinent feline, and these are things that help:

1. Tackle the soiled area quickly, with cold water if nothing else to get most of the urine out. The stuff tends to ripen and gets progressively nastier the longer it's allowed to sit.

2. A solution made up of half cool water and half ammonia seems to neutralize a fair amount of the smell.

3. Check a local pet store--they have products specifically designed to handle urine stains. The enzyme-based products seem to work the best.

4. There is a new product called Febreeze that is touted to remove just about any odor from fabric. While it may not remove any staining, it may deal with the smellier aspects of the problem.

Hope this helps.
