The owner of the silver VMI horn at the Tuba-Euphonium Summer Workshop at University of Oklahoma is a contributor to this BBS. He played it while wearing white gloves and with a white apron on the bell. I did not actually play the horn, so I cannot offer an opinion about it. I do believe that it is a CC horn, not a BBb.
