This is just another route you might want to consider. I was in the never ending search for excerpt books a couple years back. I checked my school library, which did have some, of the books, but it was very incomplete. I finally just ended up compiling the parts my self. I would xerox(did I spell that right?) the parts from my tuba teacher, the guy in the local symphony, and another free lancer in the area, untill I had all the parts that I needed. I was able to compile a very comprehensive list of the actual orchestra parts. True there are some of the more minor parts that I still don't have, but I have plenty to work on until I see those parts on an audition. This is just what worked for me. And all it cost me was the price of the copy, and the book binding.
