Heh, heh. When I was "RIF'd" from the City of Austin, they asked me to continue working until my severance date. My response? "If you don't need me three weeks from now, then you don't need me right now." From then on, my job was finding a new job (which I did).
By the way, that statement was the proof that I needed to know that I had been fired, despite that the reduction in force was used as the mechanism.
No matter--I left forthwith to a brighter future. Who wants to work for liars and cheats?
