I think that the real way to put a stop to it, if the B.S. can EVERY stop, lies with the students and high school teachers (and the University), not the working stiff who needs a job.

Teachers: don't recommend this Univeristy to your music students if you can help it. Students already in the system: I say stick it out and graduate (it is a pain in the a$$ to transfer and lose credits/money), but if you are an incoming freshman, go where you can study with whom you want to study. High School students and teachers, don't be afraid to send short notes to the Dean, music department, president and so on letting them know exactly what you're thinking and passing along to friends, relatives and future generations of students who might otherwise take classes at said University, making them money and securing their own jobs. Universities hate bad publicity almost as much as they hate lawsuits. They know their state supplemented income base is foremost built upon the backs of the students and the loans those students take out.
