I find that many F tuba students set their embouchure and attack the 4th valve (or 5-2-3 / whatever) C below the staff as they would the low G on a CC tuba. Once I can get them to hold the embouchre more firm and play it more like they would play, say, the Db just below the staff on a CC tuba, the more success they have with this.

As far as pitch tendencies on F tubas, these are not consistent from tuba to tuba, much less different models and brands.
