Yup, that's me.
Our band recorded its last concert. I had a little solo lick at the end of a Grainger piece, and what was on the CD was as good as anything I've ever done. That's at least two years' worth of motivation right there.
I've had people ask me why I play golf (back when I played). I was terrible. But, perhaps only once each round, I'd crush the ball properly and it would rocket down the fairway about 250 yards. All the cuts and slices and hooks and lost balls were worth it to get that feeling.
