You can get better at shifting gears by working on it. Get out some stuff that's written in different clefs and play through it all. The fact that you can do this at all means that you're already way ahead of most people. I had to work very hard to learn to read concert treble clef because I had learned the Bb transposition first. If you're a jazz or "commerecial" player, these skills are essential. As a composer/arranger, it's always quite a relief to only have to make a single lead sheet.
