Although I'm only a hs player and therefore don't have much experience with this type of thing at all, I've thought for a while that some pieces might lend themselves very well to an Eb, like (and I'm sorry if this causes an uproar) the Symphonie Fantastique. It just seems that the overtones would lie better, and the size of the tuba would help solve the F/CC debate. My two cents.
