A few years ago when I played in a British Brass Band (Pacific Brass), I was playing the
baritone part with an 1896 Conn tenor horn. It had a marvelous sound and reasonably
good intonation, and was a lot of fun. I always wanted to find a group of like mind,
and play period music with old conical bore instruments, but never did. Now I'm playing
a big bore euph (Hirsbrunner) in a symphonic wind ensemble (San Jose Wind Symphony), and it isn't half the fun.
