Can't resist plugging my horn, here.

I'm also a big fan of the Meinl Weston 32. I've only played it a few times, but I've liked it a LOT every time. I think Meinl Weston is a very underated company(probably due to the abundance of 2145/55s on the market), and I'm surprised I don't see more recommendations for Meinl horns.

Another horn that gets dogged a lot is the Holton Harvey Phillips model tuba. I've played 2 in CC, 2 and BBb, and as much as I tried, I couldn't find anything about it to leave me disappointed. The price might be a little high, but I'd consider this horn a good deal at around $4,500 or so(I don't know the actual price). I'll probably get flamed for saying this, but for those who wish Willson made a smallish 4/4 CC, I think that this horn fits the bill. If money weren't an issue for me, I'd have a Willson 3050 AND a Holton Harvey Phillips CC.. that's just me, though.

fwiw
