No, I don't think the quality is better, I do believe it's different. I'm still feeling the horn out and breaking it in a little, but I hear myself playing with a darker and more open sound, instead of the sweeter, lighter Willson european sound. I also feel like the airflow through the horn is much, much easier.

Funny comment about the 'almighty' Willson. I played on one for ten years (and trying to sell it now, btw) and love it, would have never thought of switching. Then Adam Frey came to the school that I teach at and let my play on his for a little over an hour or so, and I just loved it. Then again at TMEA, I got a lesson from him, and played on it for another hour or so, and just fell in love with the ease and openness of the instrument. Then a couple of weeks ago I happened along this horn, and am thoroughly satisfied so far. Hope this helps.
