To prepare for an audition, you must create the audition atmosphere as much as possible when preparing and practicing. Have "adjudicators" listen and critique your playing. Once you have the piece "under your fingers and in your ear", practice going from top to bottom as if it were the audition. This must be duplicated several times. If done correctly and with patience, by the time you arrive for the audition, you will be on the virge of playing the piece in your sleep the same way at least 8 out of 10 times, which is a good percentage to shoot for for consistency.
