To add to Chuck's advise, heat plus lye plus oil gives you soap! Any strong base should work (ie. oven cleaner) but I'd be a bit afraid of what they'd do to the horn. You might try some window cleaner (w/ ammonia) or try some straight up ammonia. I like to use window cleaner when I do the yearly (or as needed) thorough clean up of the stove. I really does cut through the old grease.
