I generally agree with both of you. Have either of you listened to Pat Sheridans recording of this concerto. I would have to say that he takes some very obvious liberties- and I think we can all agree that they are awesome to hear.
So the next question is this: Is it ok for professional performers to take liberties in interpretation of style- even if it isn't written- in every section of a piece of music, like the Barnes concerto?
