The irony here is that the CD is actually a copy of the LP itself! The original master tape was lost, so the only source for pressing the CD was a factory sealed LP. As such, when you listen to the CD carefully, you can hear the rumble of the turntable and some of the "pre-echo" from the master LP.

Carl Grapentine, the morning personality on WFMT, played the Bozza Three Pieces for Trombone Quartet and the Ride excerpt on the air about a week ago. He mentioned that he purchased the CD at the CSO Symphony Store.

Let's hope that the original tapes do show up some day, if for no other reason that the additional 18 minutes of music can be heard.
