Thanks for all the help.

I got this sousaphone about 5 years ago and got some sousaphone books at the music store and a fingering chart (all in BBb). I didn't realize until a few days ago when I started to surf the web for tuba that there were different types of sousaphones: Eb, BBb, F, CC.

So I would work on it for a while, get frustrated that I couldn't get the right pitches, put it back in the closet for a few months, then try again and repeat the cycle. Since I played trombone and a little trumpet, I didn't think it would be that hard.

Thanks to your guys' help, I have found out that my sousaphone is a Eb. I downloaded an Eb fingering chart and my problem is resolved. I can get the proper pitches in a scale now. I am excited to start learning more about this instrument.

Once again thanks for all your helpful advice.

Bill Johnson
