I had a huge pivot in my upper register, and my Monettes fixed it...they simply do not work with a pivot. Simply made everything in my playing much more consistent. Big core to the sound...Chester Schmitz helped develop these mouthpieces. I wasn't a big fan at all until I found the right one for my horn...the 99-1. The others (94 & 98) were a little big. After buying the 99 for my CC, I tried the 94-F...ordered one the next day. Simply, they are great mouthpieces. Very powerful sound...again, gives lots of core and projection to smaller tubas. I am looking to sell my 94-F if you're interested for your F tuba. I'm now using lighter mouthpieces for more color in chamber ensembles.
