Rick,

It was a few years ago that I went through Dallas and Ft. Worth. I enjoyed it there much more than I thought I would. When I was in Ft. Worth, it was immediately after the tornado had gone through the middle of town, so there were still many windows knocked out. We drove right by Bass, and saw those big herald trumpets that reach out over the street - very impressive sight, more like something you'd expect to see in New York. Anyway, I have a very regard for the Dallas Symphony. Even though Mr. Goode sort of down played it, I think that their recording of the 10th Mahler in the Clinton Carpenter performing version, is just an absolute outrage! - in the good sense. I also very much like their recording of the Shostakovich 8th. Take care.
