Inntonation used to be a "colossal" problem for me as well. Now it is something that is still a concern only if I'm not concentrating on pitch. The most important thing is to work on your ear training and musicianship skills. It is essential to know how an interval sounds before you even play it. The music should come from your mind. Know the music before you play it and the tuba should respond to your demands.
