Pitch change could come from a number of physical factors. One, has the placement of your embouchure on your mouthpiece changed? Two, when you play in the middle register, are you directing the air in the mouthpiece like you were in the low register? Three, due to increased air support (from low register practice) you may be using faster air in the middle register than prior to the low register exercises. Four, do you feel tension in new locations in throat, chest, embouchure that previously were not a problem? Five, are you using more or less pressure on your embouchure than previously? Hopefully this will help you get started on reflecting on the physical change(s) that have caused a change in pitch. ~ Ash
