I bought one of the B flats from the guy in Houston, they are copies of the horns that over the years have been sold as Zeiss,Sonora,Hamstone,in the seventies they were called the Giardinelli tuba and it is a great design. They are made in China and the workmanship is hit or miss but the metal was good and the only real lame thing about it was the linkage which was easily fixed. You get what you pay for,if you got one of these handmade it would probably be terrific, also very expensive. If you go to Houston or Vegas and play a bunch you could probably find a really good one.The one I had really got that classic Alexanderlike sound and the intonation was workable. They are acceptable low budgat horns, you should just try a few first.
