Aside from finding the proper mouthpiece-horn match, here are a few things which may help. First, notes that usually require a 1-2 combination require the 3rd valve alone on the 3-valve Besson, (this would apply to the "G"). Make sure the valves are aligned properly. Old Bessons don't have room for much cork or felt on the upstroke, (mine was originally equipped with neoprene "corks" that were pretty small). I have a 3-valve Besson from 1978 and it is a bit quirky. Make sure there are no leaks. Do you have the original small mouthpiece receiver or a an "American" style replacement? If you are using an American shank mouthpiece on an old small Besson receiver this could cause some trouble. Hope some of this helps.
