I actually prefer American sound... tubas with that American sound seem to have a fatter and fuller filling sound... it's almost like trying to show how the sound is approached. German sound seems to be built in a series that's like a column. Under and overtones are directly based in a sense of the foundational tone being straight under and straight over... nothing really standing out. American sound has this way of doing like a prism shape. The foundational tone is directly in the center and is the dominant sound... the under tones and over tones fit in a sense that the higher or lower the over and undertones, the more they're not heard as they are felt.

I think that's right... any help from the real knowledgables would be appreciated.
