Very close, Rick!

The story was, that Musica operated in Steyer in Austria with a mainly Czech staff out of the conservative Bohemian brass makers tradition (Cerveny is Bohemian, the Sudeten area mentioned by me in a recent posting on Sears instruments being part of Bohemia).

When a younger Austrian master came to work at Musica after a period of near failure, he could not turn the ship, because the conservative Czechs were reluctant to see the benefit of his innovative ideas. Some US venture (Conn International) was tried for a quite short period, but failed as well. And the young Austrian went on his own.

I will find my source some day and tell the name, but this Austrian master mostly works in trumpets and flugel horn. Very characteristic by the thoroughly hammered bells not being smoothened after the hammering process.
