There are essentially 4 keys of tubas. BBb, CC, Eb, and F. A BBb tuba is a BBb TUBA in that when you play on the first harmonic with an open fingering, a concert "Bb" is produced. It is a C INSTRUMENT in that when you see a Bb written on the staff, the note you play is actually a concert Bb. Therefore all keys of tubas are C instuments because they are all concert pitched.
